Teambuilding focus of January 2015 luncheon

Pat Fox, certified trainer in customer service, leadership and supervision, will lead the January luncheon meeting of the Women’s Business Council in team building.

Fox is a retired Associate Professor Business Technologies at Marion Technical College after earning her BSBA from Ashland University, her MSed from Dayton University and her AAB from Marion Technical College. She spent 27 years in supervisory management and continues to teach part time and train individuals in Customer Service, Team Building, Ethics, Diversity, Sexual Harassment, Leadership, Frontline Supervision, Conflict Resolution, Performance expectations and evaluation.

The meeting is Monday, January 12, 2015 beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the TRECA building, 100 Executive Drive. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, January 7 by sending an emailed to mrn.wbc@gmail.com or by calling Elaine Evans, membership chair, at 740-389-9960, ext. 307.

The Marion Women’s Business Council, Inc. is a local community of dynamic women leaders in business. Started in 1994, the group has fostered and promoted self-employed entrepreneurial-women and women working in the corporate environment.

Nominate a woman of excellence for annual ATHENA award

Nominations are being sought for the 18th ATHENA award of excellence. The award will be presented by the Marion Women’s Business Council to a woman of distinction who has demonstrated professional leadership, community service and a passion to assist women in reaching their full leadership potential. This coming year’s recipient will be awarded the ATHENA statue at the luncheon on Monday, March 9, 2015.

The ATHENA Award is intended to recognize outstanding business and professional women in the community and to create an environment where providing assistance, encouragement and mentoring to women would be uniquely valued. The ATHENA Foundation has come to embody the principles of a new kind of leadership reflected in far-reaching initiatives for the future.

A nomination form can be downloaded atwww.womensbusinesscouncil.com (click on the ATHENA button). Download either the Word document or the PDF document and complete the form. You can also pick up a form at the Marion Area Convention & Visitors Bureau in Mallard Square.

Completed forms should be returned to Diane Glassmeyer via email to advocarediane@live.com, or by regular mail to Marion Women’s Business Council, 1499 Lighthouse Ridge, Marion, Ohio  43302.

The Marion Women’s Business Council is an organization of local women dedicated to programming and networking opportunities for women in business.
