I am responsible for staffing the building, covering call offs for sick or emergencies for staff.  I handle marketing calls, tours, and enrollment of new families to our program.  Before and afterschool bussing along with staff training, food reports, and budgeting of the center.  Fundraising is a large part of what we do.  Then there is the toilet that overflows, the child that vomits and the state inspector that stops by.

The Executive Director of the American Red Cross - Marion County Chapter report to the Board of Trustees for the Chapter.

She has primary oversight of:

1. the Chapter's staff and volunteers, finances, facility, supplies and equipment disaster
2. response and armed forces emergency services provided by the Chapter
3. health, safety, disaster response and volunteer training programs offered by the Chapter
4 .health, safety and disaster response equipment and supplies offered by the Chapter
5. the Chapter's branch at the Marion Correctional Institution
6. the Chapter's activities in support of community blood drives

She is the Chapter's primary representative to:

1. The American National Red Cross
2. The American Red Cross - Central Ohio Blood Services
3. The Marion County FEMA Board
4. Marion County Emergency management Agency (EMA)
5. The Columbus Foundation (The George and Dorothy Alber Fund)
7. The Marion Community Foundation and other funding partners
8. Community Organizations (such as Rotary, the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce)
9. Local Media Partners

Doris Schwarts is in her fourth career with Verizon Communications as an Executive Administrative Assistant in the Assignment Provisioning/Data Base Management Center. She has 10+ years at Verizon holding various positons in the Training, Regulatory, and Security Departments. She is married to Steve and has two children - Brian 29, married to Beth and Lindsey Willey, 25 married to David. And last but not least, one grandchild Andrea Rose Schwartz, who recently turned 1 year old. With 18 years of membership in IAAP, Doris has served on various Board and Committee positions as part of both eht Harding and former GTE Chapters, to include Vice-President, Civic and APW committees to be her favorites.
